Swim — 1.6km

After cheering on the REUNION TRI TOUR XXL triathletes, it's your turn to dive into the Saint-Leu lagoon, where you'll swim 2 laps of 700m plus a 200m straight.

On each lap, you'll do an Australian exit so your family and friends can cheer you on, and to cross the timing mat that counts your laps.

Bike — 43km

Get your time-trial bike ready — this course is for the rouleurs. 2 laps between the two roundabouts of Saint-Leu and Étang-Salé; you'll most likely have a headwind on the way out and a tailwind on the way back.

A 100% out-of-town course with magnificent views over the Indian Ocean and the volcano, on a cycle path for safe riding... everything's there to give it your all and enjoy the bike.

Run — 10km

To make you want to step up to the longer distance next year, you'll run the same loop on foot as the XXL triathletes.

You'll start each lap with a long 2.3km straight along the seafront towards Pointe au Sel. Watch out — the sun can be fierce in the afternoon, but with a bit of luck a small swell will come up and you'll be able to watch a few surfers on the "cimetière" wave; otherwise, there's always the beach to admire.

Then you go under the main road for an out-and-back towards the cemetery via the savannah. On the way back, you'll pass under the other little tunnel to reach the houses of Pointe au Sel. To round off this scenic tour, you'll loop around the salt-marsh visitor centre at Pointe au Sel. From there, you take the cycle path along the main road back to Saint-Leu.
